Who Killed the Music

The Grammy Museum
Los Angeles, CA

January 23rd, 2010

The art gallery exhibition, “Who Killed the Music”, by will.i.am, exhibits fine art paintings alongside pictures of hand-painted BlackBerry smartphones photographed for reproduction. These pieces were displayed at The Grammy Museum during week leading up to the 2010 Grammy Awards.

Who Killed the Music can be seen as a double entendre, meaning who literally killed the music (industry), and who is killing it right now. Though the question will never be true because music will never die, there are some ideas people should consider. The landscape of our culture is evolving rapidly, and music as we make it and receive it has to adapt, and quickly.
